Removal



1. Open the ashtray. Pull the shift lever cover (2) together with the boot (6) up firmly, disengaging it from the four clips.

2. Remove the cover (6) upwards. Turn the nut (5) counterclockwise and remove the handle (4) from the lever.

Warning: Depending on the model, there may be a clamp instead of a nut. (1) – selector cover.


3. Press the strips and detach the cover from the frame (3).

Installation



1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. In this case, place the boot on the shift lever (arrow B) and turn the nut (5) clockwise (arrow A).

Automatic transmission



Removal



1. Set the selector to position "D".

2. Turn the sleeve (1) counterclockwise and slide it down until it stops.

2. Turn the sleeve (1) counterclockwise and slide it down until it stops.


3. Carefully pull the stopper (2) out of the handle (3) so that the cable tie can be pushed through the gap between the stopper and the handle.



Caution: Do not pull the stopper out too far, otherwise the selector may be damaged.


4. Close the clamp around the retainer (arrow), tighten it and hold it in this position.

5. Remove the handle (3) upwards from the selector.

6. Open the front ashtray and remove the cover.

7. Release the clamps (2) and lift the selector cover (1) upwards from the centre console.

8. Disconnect the connector from the side of the overlay.

Warning: To remove the Tiptronic switch, press the tabs (2) inwards, release the trim from the lower part and remove the switch from the trim.


9. Release the selector cover (1) from the clamp holder with a strong tug and pull it upwards.

Installation



1. Set the selector to position "D", install the selector cover and fix it.



2. Connect the connector, install and secure the selector cover and cover.

3. Replace the ashtray lid.

4. Install the handle on the selector and fix it.

Warning: The latch must be pulled out of the handle as described during removal and secured with a cable tie. The latch must point to the left towards the driver.


5. Remove the cable clamp and press the lock into the handle.

6. Slide the sleeve on the selector up, turn clockwise and lock.
