Every centimeter of the varnish coating plays an important role in slowing down the aging of the car. Therefore, caring for the varnish coating is not a useless job. In the case of a new car, caring for the varnish coating does not require too much time. To maintain the varnish coating in good condition, it is quite enough to wash it regularly, remove the consequences of stone impacts, resin stains and insect remains. However, after two or three years, due to the sun, rain, dirt and frequent car washing, the varnish coating changes, after which it must be cleaned more carefully. Perform the following check: if water drops on clean varnish spread out with the formation of fuzzy edges, then it is time to care for the varnish coating.
Varnish care product
The type of product you need to choose for car care depends on the condition of the varnish coating. For a new, well-preserved coating, a soft polish is enough. The polish evens out the rough varnish layer that occurs due to mechanical and environmental impacts. The polish gently polishes the microscopic grooves in the top layer of the varnish coating. In addition, it contains wax components that preserve the varnish coating. A varnish care product for a new varnish is a real poison, but for an old and worn coating, this is just what you need.
It's never too late to take care of your varnish coating
The varnish care product acts as a varnish, but it contains coarser abrasives that can handle even heavy dirt. Indeed, it is almost never too late to take care of the varnish coating. Before giving an old car a new "outfit", try using a nail polish care product. However, preservative components in the composition of this wonderful tool, as a rule, are not included, so after updating the varnish coating, it must be preserved with car wax.
Preservatives for varnish coating
By the way, conservation of a new or renewed varnish coating should be done two or three times a year. This allows the gloss to be preserved longer and improves long-term protection. Most polishes and varnish care products act quite aggressively, so do not work in direct sunlight under any circumstances. Otherwise, the chemical compounds included in the polish can literally burn the varnish.
Care and preservation of varnish coating
1. Before applying polish, the car must be thoroughly washed and dried.
2. First, test in an inconspicuous place how the varnish tolerates the polish you have. If you use a varnish care product, be careful: apply a thin layer, as too much of this product removes more topcoat than necessary. It is best to apply the product in several passes.
3. Apply polish or varnish care product with a piece of cotton wool (synthetic) cotton wool or soft cloth, but not rags made of artificial fibers. The polish should be rubbed in with circular motions and light pressure. Only a small area should be treated at a time.
4. After a short time, a dry white coating will form, which is polished with a piece of cotton wool in circular motions. In the case of worn varnish coating, be careful when processing the edges, otherwise you will quickly reach the primer.
5. After some time, polishing will be worse, as wax particles and varnish care products slow down the movements. In this case, the cotton wool should be turned to the other side or replaced.
6. At the end of the work, to remove any remaining residue and cotton wool, wipe the varnish coating with a clean cotton cloth.
At the end of the work, the polished varnish surface should be wiped with a clean cotton cloth. This allows you to remove the remaining plaque and cotton wool fluff
How to properly preserve varnish coating
7. Apply wax with cotton wool. The size of the surface to be treated depends on the product used. Be careful, preservatives contain a large proportion of solvents, so ensure adequate ventilation.
8. Rub the liquid with pieces of cotton wool using circular motions. Circular motions, made with some pressure, in the case of good preservatives give a deep gloss.
9. The cotton wool should slide over the varnish with a little resistance, so turn the cotton wool over to the other side more often and replace it in a timely manner.
10. If stripes or spots appear on the varnish after conservation, this is mostly due to smeared paint particles that remained from the previous polish treatment. In such places, the treatment must be repeated.
