1 - ignition off, engine off. Steering wheel can be locked.
2 — ignition on.
3 - engine start.
Diesel Engine Cars
1 - fuel supply is cut off, engine is turned off. Steering wheel can be locked.
2 — pre-start warm-up. To avoid unnecessary overloading of the battery during pre-start warm-up of the engine, do not turn on powerful current consumers.
3 - engine start.
The following instructions apply to all vehicles, both petrol and diesel.
Ignition switch position 1
To lock the steering wheel, remove the key from the lock and turn the steering wheel slightly until you hear the steering column lock click.
On vehicles with automatic transmission, turning the key to position 1 and removing it from the lock is only possible if the gearbox control lever is in position P.
Note: If, after removing the key from the lock on a vehicle not equipped with a diagnostic unit for the functioning of the main vehicle systems, the headlights, interior lighting, radio or turn signal remain on, then when the driver's door is opened, a buzzer will sound.
Attention! On vehicles with a manual transmission, the key can only be removed from the ignition switch after the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
Ignition switch position 2
If the key is difficult to turn to this position or does not turn at all, then you need to turn the steering wheel slightly from side to side to unlock the steering column.
Ignition switch position 3
In this position, the parking lights are switched on and large consumers of electrical energy from the on-board network are switched off.
Each time you try to start the engine, the ignition key must be returned to position 1. The restart lock in the ignition switch prevents its pinion from engaging with the flywheel ring gear when the engine is already running, thus preventing damage to the engine.
