Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

Loosen the generator mounting bolts and remove the generator drive belt.

Remove the front timing belt cover and loosen the belt tension.

Note: Do not allow the crankshaft to rotate until the oil pump is fully installed.

Remove the crankshaft pulley, unscrew the plug located under the exhaust manifold from the cylinder block, and the camshaft drive belt.

Remove the oil level dipstick.

Drain the oil from the engine crankcase.

Remove the oil pan.

Remove the oil receiver tube with the oil receiver.

Remove the front cover of the cylinder block together with the oil pump.

Assembly should be carried out in the reverse order of disassembly, with the following:
  • install the oil pump with the protrusions of the drive gear on the flats of the crankshaft;

  • install the camshaft drive belt and adjust its tension;
  • adjust the tension of the alternator drive belt;
