Cylinder head
The figure shows the cylinder head of cylinder bank 2 (left).
1. Cylinder head gasket: replace; installation position: part number facing the cylinder head; after replacement, change the oil and coolant.
2. Bolt.
3. Bolt: 70 Nm.
4. Drive gear of the high pressure pump toothed belt.
5. Rear timing belt cover.
6. Camshaft seal.
7. O-rings: replace.
8. Hollow screw.
9. Fuel rail; do not change the curved shape of high pressure pipelines.
10. Bolt: 23 Nm.
11. Pipeline system. cooling.
12. Bolt: replace.
13. Engine suspension eye.
14. Bolt M8: 23 Nm.
15. Bolt M6: 9 Nm.
16. Cylinder head: Place the removed cylinder head on a plastic pad, otherwise the glow plugs may be damaged; check the curvature of the mating plane; modification of cylinder heads of TDI engines is prohibited; after replacement, change the coolant and oil.

Note: The left and right cylinder head gaskets cannot be mixed up; they have different shapes.
Cylinder head - last, and bolt tightening torque
Replace the cylinder head bolts. Tighten the bolts in sequence. "1...8" in 5 stages as follows. 1. Tighten the bolts by hand until they stop. 2. Tighten to 35 Nm. 3. Tighten to 60 Nm. 4/5. Tighten 90° further.
