1. The details of installing the locking cable using the example of models with numbers from 8E 002700 are shown in the illustration 9.1.

2. Move the selector lever to the "S" position.
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
4. Remove the glove box on the driver's side (see Chapter 11).
5. Remove the steering column cover (see Chapter 10).
6. Remove the climate control panel (see Chapter 3).
7. Remove the ashtray and selector cover (see Section 7).
8. Turn on the ignition, lift the lock (1 in the illustration) on the locking device and pull the locking rod (1) out of the ignition switch.

9. Lift the latch (And in illustration 8.5) and pull the locking cable out of the cable eye pin in the direction of the arrow.
10. Installation is performed in the reverse order of dismantling the components. Route the cable under the wiring harness (And in the illustration) and behind the instrument panel bracket (B) without bending.

11. The cable is fixed to the ignition switch with the ignition on. After this, turn off the ignition, make sure that the selector lever is in the "P" position, and fix the cable to the selector mechanism.
12. After installation, adjust the cable as described in the subsection below.
Adjustment
13. Make sure that the locking cable is installed, the selector lever is in the "P" position and the key in the ignition switch is in the extract position.
14. Remove the selector cover (see Section 7) and remove the ashtray.
15. Loosen the bolt (1 in the illustration). It must be possible to move the locking cable bracket (2) by hand.
10.15. Adjusting the locking cable
16. Insert the 3352A tool, cut along the top edge of the flat cutout, between the pin on the locking cable lever and the locking cable eye (see illustration 10.15). Pull the lock cable all the way in the direction of the arrow and tighten the bolt.
17. In this position it should be possible to easily insert and remove the modified fixture 3352A. Remove this fixture.
18. Install the ashtray, cover, check the proper functioning of the lock and install the selector cover.
