Do not exceed the maximum speed limit for your tires, this applies especially to tires for driving on muddy and snowy roads of category Q (160 km/h). If you drive too fast, your tires will wear out faster, and in the worst case, your tires may become completely unusable.
Avoid maximum speed if the car is heavily loaded. Feel the tire: if the tire is warm, then everything is fine. Hot rubber is an alarm signal that indicates low air pressure or damage to the tire frame. In this case, remove the tires and give them to a specialist for inspection.
If you frequently drive at high speed on the motorway, fit tyres with a speed rating that is one notch higher than the speed rating specified in the vehicle's technical data sheet (for example, T instead of S).
When parking, make sure that the sidewall of the tires does not scrape against the curb. Curbs and railway tracks should be crossed at a slow speed and only in a perpendicular direction.
How to store tires correctly?
After changing from summer to winter tires or vice versa, remove tires should be stored in a dry, cool and dark room. Keep gasoline, oil, grease and chemicals away from tires - these substances decompose rubber.
First, mark the direction of rotation and the location of the tires (front right, front left, rear right, rear left).
Remove the tires, wash them with water and dry them completely. Remove any gravel or other foreign objects from the tread grooves.
Place the tires with rims in a stack in a horizontal position, preferably on an old wooden pallet.
Tires without rims should be stored in an upright position. Turn them occasionally during storage.
Change your tires correctly
If you have a spare tire under the lid in the trunk, this will save you money, provided that the same tires are still available for sale. You just buy the appropriate tire, and a new set of tires for the axle is ready.
You can also delay buying new tires by swapping tires on one side of the car each time (while maintaining the direction of rotation, that is, not crosswise!). The tires wear out more evenly. The disadvantage of this method is that when changing tires, all four tires must be changed at once. In addition, when changing tires frequently, it is difficult to notice defects in the wheel suspension, steering, and shock absorbers.
When replacing tires, in any case, pay attention to the fact that tires of the same brand, with the same tread pattern and the same degree of wear are mounted on each axle.
