If the engine does not start and the starter does not rotate
If the vehicle model is equipped with an automatic transmission, make sure the gear selector is in the "R" or "N".
Open the hood and make sure the battery terminals and clamps are clean and secure.
Turn on the headlights and try to start the engine. If the headlights dim significantly when the starter is turned on, the battery is most likely dead. This trouble can be easily overcome by starting the engine from another battery (see below), for example, using the battery of your buddy's car.
If the engine does not start even though the starter turns normally
Is there fuel in the tank?
Are the electrical components under the hood damp? Turn on the ignition and wipe suspicious areas with a dry cloth. Spray with a moisture-absorbing spray (WD-40 or similar) on the connectors of the electrical circuits of the ignition system and the fuel system. Pay special attention to the high voltage wires and the ignition coil.
Pic. 6. Check the reliability of the electrical connectors (with the ignition off) and spray them with a dehumidifier in an aerosol can (type WD-40), if there is a suspicion that the wiring is damp.
Pic. A. Check the condition and reliability of the contact of the battery terminals with the wires.
Pic. B. Check the reliability of the wiring connection to the DMRV pilot (mass air flow sensor).
Pic. C. Check wiring connections to ignition coil (hell ignition system).
Pic. D. Make sure the connections of the tips of the high-voltage wires to the spark plugs and the ignition coil are secure by first removing the top cover of the engine.
