Use special towing ropes for towing. The towed vehicle must have the hazard warning lights on, and the towing vehicle must have low beams.
In a towed vehicle, always keep the ignition key in the "Ignition on", so that the steering wheel is not blocked and the brake lights work.
Under the rear bumper on the right is a towing eye. The front towing eye is located under a cover on the right side of the front bumper - the cover must be removed to access.
To open the lid, pull the latch
Please note that the brake pedal with the engine off is noticeably more "tight" due to the non-working brake booster, more effort is needed on the pedals for effective braking.
On models with power steering, additional force will be required to turn the steering wheel when the engine is not running.
The driver of the vehicle being towed must always keep the tow cable taut to avoid dangerous entanglement with the wheel.
Make sure both drivers (towing vehicle and towed vehicle) know the route.
Tow the vehicle at a moderate speed, start smoothly and brake early while maintaining a minimum safe distance.
Vehicles with automatic transmissions will require special precautions. If in doubt, call a tow truck so as not to damage the transmission.
Attention! To avoid damaging the catalytic converter. when starting the engine with a tow, do not tow the car for a distance of more than 50 meters; it is preferable to use an external battery to start.
