Start the engine with the jumper cable
Check the wire connections Repair the starter Briefly tap the electromagnetic switch. If the starter continues doesn't work, then: check the graphite brushes Replace the electromagnetic switch
Have your assistant turn the ignition key to the engine start position
and tap the electromagnetic switch with a wrench
Check the wire with a test lamp |
| IN. The starter works but does not turn the engine | 1. The starting lever is jammed
2. The teeth of the engine gear or flywheel are damaged |
Repair the starter
Move the car slightly with the gear engaged. Start the engine again. Replace damaged parts at a car repair shop |
| WITH. Electromagnetic switch in rapid sequence turns on and off, starter does not work | The battery was heavily discharged when the electromagnetic switch was turned on the voltage drops and it switches off again | Charge the battery |
| D. The starter continues to operate even though the key is released | 1. The electromagnetic switch is stuck and does not turn off
2. The ignition/start switch is faulty |
Immediately turn off the ignition, or, as a last resort, disconnect the battery.

| E. The gear does not come out of the grooves after the engine is turned on | 1. The return spring of the starting lever does not work or is broken
