
1. Remove the throttle cable mounting brackets and the cable housing retaining washer.
2. Remove the trim in the driver's side footwell.
3. Disconnect the gas cable from the accelerator pedal lever.
4. Press out the rubber seal on the dividing wall between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment, through which the gas cable is pulled. Feed the seal from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment.
5. Pull out the throttle cable. When installing the throttle cable back in place, be careful not to bend the cable.
6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
7. Move the throttle lever to the "Full throttle" position.
8. Install the cable sheath retaining washer into the corresponding notch on the counter support.
When the accelerator pedal is fully depressed, the play on the throttle lever should be a maximum of 1 mm.
Caution! Disconnecting the battery erases the adjustments made to the Mono-Motronic fuel injection system. After reconnecting the battery and restoring power, the engine will idle roughly for a while. It takes some time to restore the data. The fastest time to restore the data is after a drive of approximately 10 minutes.
