Engine Oil and Oil Filter - Replacement
It is recommended to change the oil once a year if the mileage is no more than 15,000 km. If the mileage is greater, then every 15,000 km.
To change the oil you need:
- a) motor oil of the appropriate specification,
- b) new gasket for the drain plug thread,
- c) fuel filter corresponding to the engine type (056115561 G - for 4-cylinder engines, 035115561 - for 5-cylinder engines and 034115561 A - for six-cylinder engines, 028115561 - for diesel engines)
- d) a container for collecting used oil,
- d) key for removing the oil filter.
1. Place the vehicle on jack stands in a horizontal position or on an inspection pit.
2. Remove the engine splash guard.
3. Place a container under the drain hole in the pan to collect the used oil.
4. Unscrew the drain plug with a socket wrench and drain the oil.
5. Place a container under the oil filter to collect the oil.
6. Remove the oil filter with an oil filter wrench. If the filter is difficult to remove, pierce it from the side with a screwdriver, and then remove it with a screwdriver.
Warning! Be careful. The oil is hot!
7. Lubricate the O-ring of the new oil filter with a thin layer of grease.
Caution! Do not lubricate the ring with oil. When checking for leaks, any oil that comes out may be mistaken for engine oil leakage.
8. Screw the filter in by hand.
9. Wipe the drain plug thread and screw it back into place, installing a new sealing ring.
10. Fill with new engine oil.
11. Start the engine and perform a visual check of the system for leaks.

12. Unscrew the ventilation plug at the top of the filter.
13. Loosen the clamps securing the inlet and return hoses to the fuel filter. The clamps can be loosened with a small screwdriver by widening the eye. The same clamps can be reused by squeezing the eye with side cutters. We recommend installing new clamps.
14. Unscrew the filter mounting nut.
15. Pull the filter out of the holder by pushing it upwards. For TDI engines, disconnect the condensate level sensor plug to do this.
16. Place a container under the fuel filter to collect condensate.
17. Unscrew the threaded plug of the condensate drain hole at the bottom of the fuel filter by hand. Be careful. The threaded plug is quite fragile. TDI engines have a condensate level sensor screwed in instead of a plug.
18. Drain the condensate (it's about 100 cm³). Continue this procedure until clean fuel begins to flow from the drain hole.
19. Screw in the vent and drain plugs.
Fuel filter - replacement
20. TDI engines only: Disconnect the condensate level sensor plug and remove the plug from the bracket.
21. Loosen the clamps securing the inlet and return hoses to the fuel filter and remove the hoses.
22. Unscrew the filter mounting nut and remove the filter.
23. Remove the protective foil from the fuel filter.
24. Disconnect the fuel filter from the mounting flange.
25. Drain the remaining fuel from the fuel filter into a suitable container.
26. Install a new fuel filter.
27. TDI engines only: Screw the condensate level sensor into the new fuel filter.
28. Operate the starter until fuel begins to flow to the high-pressure fuel pump.
