
Place a device for filling and pumping out oil under the gearbox. Unscrew the threaded plug of the ATF oil drain hole "arrow A" and drain the ATF oil. Do not start the engine if there is no ATF oil in the gearbox. Replace the ATF drain plug with the seal. Tighten the new drain plug "arrow A" to 12 Nm.

Filling the gearbox with ATF oil
For automatic transmission 0B6, only original ATF oil supplied as a spare part can be used. Fill the ATF filling device "VAG 1924" reservoir with ATF oil for automatic transmission 0B6, ATF oil specification. Secure the ATF filling device "VAG 1924" reservoir in the vehicle as high as possible. Unscrew the ATF oil level control screw "arrow B".

Install the filling tip of the ATF oil filling device "VAG 1924" from below into the opening of the protective cap "arrow", avoiding pushing the cap upwards.

Add ATF oil using the ATF filling device "VAG 1924" until it flows out of the inspection hole. Move the automatic transmission selector lever to position "P". Start the engine and turn it off again after 20 seconds. Add ATF oil again using the ATF oil filling device "VAG 1924" until it flows out of the inspection hole. Start the engine. Add ATF oil again using the ATF filling device "VAG 1924" until it flows out of the inspection hole again. Tighten the ATF oil level check plug. With the brake pedal depressed and the engine running at idle. while moving, shift the automatic gearbox selector through all positions ("P", "R", "N", "O", "S"), and each position must be engaged for at least 10 seconds. Shift the selector to position "N". Increase the engine speed to 2000 rpm and wait at least 60 seconds. Move the automatic transmission selector lever to position "P". Check and adjust the ATF level. Install the rear sound insulation.
