1. Cylinder block. 2. Sealing flange with lip seal: replace only as a set; do not lubricate the working edge of the seal; use a support sleeve for installation; before installation, remove any remaining oil from the crankshaft connecting rod journal with a clean rag. 3. Bolt. 4. Driven disc: to loosen the mounting bolts, secure with 3067. 5. Bolt: 60 Nm + 90°; replace. 6. Needle bearing. 7. Intermediate shield: must be installed on mounting bushings; do not damage/bend during installation work; suspended from the flange. 8. Mounting sleeve.

Sealing flange on the gearbox side, tightening

Tighten bolts "1 to 8" as shown in the figure sequ..

1. Tighten the bolts by hand; 2. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 9 Nm.

Removal and installation the driven disk

The gearbox has been removed. Use the "10-201" counterstop to remove the bolts.

Risk of damage to the outer surface of the bearing flange on the driven disk. To loosen and tighten the driven disk mounting bolts, use a socket wrench (the length of the key handle is not less than 40 mm). Unscrew the bolts, remove the driven disk and the timing rotor.

Installation

Installation in reverse order. Replace the driven disk bolts. A needle bearing is installed in the driven disk of a car with a manual transmission. Before installing the disc, make sure the needle bearing is already installed. When installing the driven disk, pay attention to the installation pin. To secure the bolts, move the counter support "10-201".

Pressing in and pressing out a needle bearing from a driven disc, with a manual transmission

The gearbox is removed. Remove the driven disk. To press out and press in the driven disk, use a "40-103" support. Press out the needle bearing using a "VW 421" mandrel and a press. The thinner diameter of the "VW 421" mandrel faces the driven disc.
