2. Remove the wheel and screw the mounting bolts back in by hand.
3. Completely unscrew the bolt securing the drive shaft to the hub.
4. Unscrew the drive shaft fastener to the transmission.
5. If there is not enough space to remove the shaft, remove the nut (1 in illustration 4.7), unscrew the bolt and pull up both upper rods (2).
Note: Do not attempt to enlarge the slots in the wheel bearing retainer using a chisel or similar tools. Do not remove the bolts (3 and 4) to avoid disturbing the wheel alignment.
6. Pull back the wheel bearing retainer and remove the drive shaft.
7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of component dismantling. The M14 or M16 drive shaft mounting bolt should be pre-tightened to 115 or 200 Nm, respectively, when the vehicle wheels are raised. To do this, you can ask an assistant to press the brake pedal. The bolt should be finally tightened (pulled to an angle of 180°) when the vehicle is standing on its wheels.
