7.1. Removing the hub bolt boot
2. Loosen the hub bolt (see illustration 6.1) at an angle of 90°, remove the wheel and secure the brake disc with one wheel bolt.
3. Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts (see illustration), remove it and hang it on the body elements with a wire so that the brake hose is not twisted, bent or stretched. Remove the brake disc (see chapter 9) and the rear suspension spring (see chapter 10).
7.3. Removing the brake shield
4. Remove the hub bolt (1 in the illustration), bolts (3) and remove the brake shield. On FWD models, remove the rear wheel hub (2).
Note: The wheel bearing assembly is OK and does not require replacement if it can be pulled out of the wheel bearing retainer by hand.
7.4. Brake shield fastener (3) and hub (2)
5. Unscrew the bolt (2 in the illustration) and remove the ABS wheel sensor. Use a scriber to mark the position of the eccentric bolt (1) on the top of the hub carrier/hub assembly so that you can tighten the bolt to this mark. Remove the bolts shown in the illustration in the following order: 5, 3, 4, 1. Remove the hub carrier/hub assembly.
7.5 Removing the hub/steel hub assembly
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of dismantling the components. Use new self-locking fasteners. Tighten the bolts shown in Figure 7.5 in the sequence 1, 3-5. First tighten the hub bolt with the vehicle raised to 200 Nm (with the parking brake engaged), and then pull it to an angle of 180° with the car standing on its wheels. After installation, check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles.
