To start an internal combustion engine, an electric motor called a starter is needed. In order for the car engine to start, it must be spun up to a speed of at least 300 rpm. This can be achieved if the starter works reliably and the battery is charged.
Since the engine requires a large amount of electricity to start, care must be taken to ensure that the cables are securely connected when performing maintenance. Rusty contacts must be cleaned and lubricated with grease.
