Removal
Caution: When disconnecting the air bag system cables, be sure to observe air bag safety precautions, refer to Section General information and safety precautions.
1. To prevent the head airbag from deploying, turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) and then the positive battery cables. For instructions, see Section Replacing the battery.
2. Disconnect the A-pillar trim in the B-pillar area, refer to Section Removal and installation the A-pillar trim.
3. Disconnect the D-pillar trim/trailer door trim (Wagon) in the B-pillar area, refer to the corresponding Section.
4. Remove the seat belt on the front seat, refer to Section Removal and installation the front seat.
5. Pull the trim (1) out of the door seal.

6. Disconnect the trim (1) at the spring clips at the bottom (2) and top (5) and (7).
7. Pull down the trim (1) and disconnect it from the B-pillar.
8. Disconnect the seat belt (3) from the belt height adjuster (4) and remove the trim.
Installation
Caution: Do not press the locking button (6) during installation.
1. Insert the seat belt into the belt height adjuster.
2. Move the buckle with the key (4), without pressing the key, from top to bottom onto the release lever (1) of the height regulator and at the same time insert the pin (2) into the groove (3).

3. Secure the B-pillar trim at the top. The locking tabs (5) and (7) should be locked in place. Make sure the gap is correct.
4. Press the trim at the bottom with spring clamps (2) and fix it.

5. Place the door seal over the trim on the left and right.
6. Check the operation of the height adjuster: Press and release the locking button. It should return to the upper position on its own. Move the height adjuster and lock it. The adjuster should clearly lock in each of the five positions. Otherwise, remove the trim and reconnect the buckle with the locking button to the height adjuster.
7. Install the seat belt on the front seat, refer to Section Removal and installation the front seat.
8. Secure the A-pillar trim and D-pillar trim/trailer lid trim (Wagon) in the B-pillar area, refer to the relevant Section.
Caution: There must be no one in the vehicle when connecting the battery.
9. Remove the insulating tape from the negative battery terminal, connect the positive (+) cable first and then the negative (-) cable to the battery.
