Removal
1. To prevent the front passenger airbag from deploying, turn off the ignition, then disconnect first the negative (-) cable and then the positive (+) cable from the battery. Cover the negative battery terminal with adhesive tape. Follow the instructions in Section Replacing the battery.
2. Using a plastic wedge or screwdriver, detach the cover (2) from the side of the instrument panel (7) and unscrew the 2 screws (5).

3. Open the glove compartment and remove the 3 screws (3) at the top.
4. Remove 2 screws (4) at the bottom.
5. Pull the storage compartment (1) downwards.
Caution: Before disconnecting the air bag system cables, be sure to follow the air bag safety precautions, refer to Section General information and safety precautions.
6. Disconnect the connector (6) of the glove compartment light and the front passenger airbag deactivation. To do this, press the locking bar and disconnect the connector.
Installation
1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
Caution: No one should be in the vehicle when the battery is disconnected.
2. Remove the insulating tape from the negative battery terminal, connect the positive cable (+) first, then the negative cable (-) to the battery.
