Withdrawal
Application: Under no circumstances should the vehicle be operated with the front bumper removed, as the rest of the bodywork will not be able to securely support the engine.
1. Open the hood.
2. On each side of the car, unscrew the screws and disconnect the rear ends of the bumper from the lockers (pic. 9.2).
3. Press the latches and remove the grilles from both sides of the bumper (pic. 9.3).
4. If fog lights mounted in the bumper are installed. Remove them as described in paragraph 7 of chapter 12 (if it is needed). On some models, an outside temperature sensor is mounted in the rear surface of the bumper. Disconnect its wiring connector.
5. Turn away two lower bolts of fastening of a bumper (pic. 9.5).
6. Carefully remove the bumper from the front of the car. If headlight washers are fitted, before completely removing the bumper. retract it so that you can disconnect the washer hose from the bumper-to-crossbar joint. If the bumper "has grown", release its rear ends from the mounting brackets one at a time by pulling the lower part of the end of the bumper slightly forward and turning it up and away from the fender (pic. 9.6, a, b).
Note: The height of the bumper can be changed by adjusting the position of the threaded bushings inside the bumper mounting tubes.
7. If required, front spoiler (if installed) can be removed from the lower part of the bumper by removing the collapsible rivets and pressing the latches. To remove collapsible rivets, press out the central pin and use pliers to remove the body of the rivet. The installation of collapsible rivets is done as follows: the body is inserted, then the central pin is flush with it.
8. Shock-absorbing tubes of a bumper can be removed from a body, having turned out bolts of fastening. When reinstalling, tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
Installation
9. Installation - reverse procedure. Tighten the bumper bolts to the specified torque. Check operation of headlight washers, fog lights and outside temperature sensor (if installed).
