Squeaking doors — troubleshooting (Audi A4 B5)

1. Make sure that the doors do not wobble in the hinges and that the latch securely holds the door closed. Check that the door is not warped in the body opening. Adjusting the door in the opening is described in paragraph 23.

2. If the lock latch holds the door closed correctly, but the latch squeaks, the lock mechanism may be faulty and needs to be replaced.

3. Other door creaks may be caused by wear of window lift mechanisms, internal door lock mechanisms, loose wiring fasteners and sliding glass guide channels.
