Removal
10. On each side of the vehicle, remove the screws securing the front ends of the bumper to the wheel arches.
11. In the luggage compartment, bend back the cover, unscrew two mounting bolts on each side (Fig. 9.11). On Avant models, this will require removing the panel from the luggage compartment threshold, then the left side panel and the carpet to gain access to one of the bolts on the left side.

12. Carefully remove the bumper, pulling it towards the rear of the car. If the bumper is "stuck", release its front ends from the mounting brackets one by one by pulling the lower part of the end of the bumper slightly forward and turning it up and towards the open (fig. 9.12, a, b).

13. The bumper shock absorber tubes can be removed from the body by unscrewing the mounting bolts. When reinstalling, tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
14. If required, the bumper molding can be removed by releasing the latches.
Installation
15. Installation - reverse procedure. Before final tightening, tighten all mounting nuts. Tighten the bumper mounting bolts to the specified torque (Fig. 9.15).
