Four-speed gearbox with four forward gears and one reverse gear with synchronizers on all forward gears. All gearbox gears, except for the reverse gear, are helical, constant mesh. The gearbox is combined with the differential and the main gear. Gear shifting is performed by a lever on the body floor.
Initially, cars with FZ and YP engines were equipped with a type 014 l gearbox.
Since August 1981, cars with the EP engine were equipped with a gearbox of type 014! with the index QZ. Since August 1982, a gearbox of type 014 l with the index 7M with a modified gear ratio of the 2nd gear was used (1,789 instead of 1,700).
Since August 1982, cars with DT engines were equipped with a gearbox type 014 II with the index UT.
Since June 1983, all vehicles except those with a DT engine were equipped with a gearbox of type 014 II with index 6V, and vehicles with a DT engine were equipped with a gearbox of type 014 II with index 1Y or 5V instead of a gearbox of type 014 II with index UT.
