Camshaft
The camshaft is five-bearing.
Camshaft axial clearance, mm:
- nominal: 0.048-0.118;
- maximum allowable: 0.15.
Radial runout of the middle journals of the shaft (for measurement, install the shaft with its outer journals on two prisms placed on the calibration plate), no more than, mm: 0.94.
The diameter of the necks of the camshaft of YP, YZ engines, mm: 25.94-25.96.
Diameter of camshaft journals for EP, OT, DS, 0Z engines, mm:
- nominal: 26.00;
- repair size: 25.75.
Note. Since July 1985, due to the installation of hydraulic tappets in the 1.6 liter and 1.8 liter engines, the diameters of the circumferences of the occipital and nose of the cam have been reduced to 38 to 9 mm, respectively.
When the timing mechanism is correctly installed, the mark on the camshaft sprocket should be at the level of the cylinder head cover gasket, and the mark on the camshaft sprocket should be against the mark on the intermediate shaft pulley.
Intermediate shaft
The intermediate shaft is driven by a toothed belt from the crankshaft pulley. The intermediate shaft drives the fuel pump, the ignition distributor and the oil pump.
Intermediate shaft journal diameter, mm:
- anterior: 42.95;
- rear: 41.95.
Timing belt for camshaft drive
Brand and type of belt:
- engines YP, YZ: Pirelli «isoran» 121 R 190;
- engines EP, DT, DS, D7: Gates 6016, Pirelli 121 R 180.
Number of teeth: 121.
Tooth pitch, mm:
- engines YP, YZ: 9.525;
- engines EP, DT, DS, DZ: 9.530
Belt width, mm:
- engines YP, YZ: 19;
- engines EP, DT, DS, DZ: 18.
Belt length (engines EP, DT, DS, DZ), mm: 1154
The belt tension is considered normal if, in the middle of the branch between the camshaft and intermediate shaft pulleys, the belt is twisted no more than 90°by the force of the thumb and forefinger.
