Disconnect plug connector "1" of air flow meter "G70". Unscrew bolt "3" and release pressure sensor 1 EG "G450" "pos. 4" on air duct pipe. Disconnect and release plug connector "2" of temperature sensor 4 "G648" on air duct pipe. Remove air hose with air flow meter "G70", for this purpose loosen hose clamp "5" and loosen clamps "arrows".
Disconnect the vacuum line "1". Remove the air filter housing and disconnect the plug connector "2" of the air filter bypass valve "N₂75" on the back side.
Disconnect the glow plug connector of cylinder 1. Disconnect the connectors "1...7" and release the wiring harness using the "80 - 200" lever.
For reinstallation, mark the correspondence of the high-pressure lines to the injection nozzles. Loosen the union nuts of the high-pressure lines "1...6" with a 17 mm insert "V.A.G 1331/6" and a socket wrench attachment "T40055".
Remove the return fuel pipes from the injection nozzles by pulling the release bolt upwards "arrow". Remove the controlled check valve "1" from the bracket and set the valve with the connected fuel hoses aside. Unscrew the pressure reducing valve bracket.
The following figures show the left cylinder head. Loosen the bolts "arrows" of the injection nozzle covers. Pull the covers up and turn 90°. Loosen the bolts "arrows" of the injection nozzles. Reinstallation of the injection nozzles is permitted only on the cylinder on which they were originally installed. Mark the correspondence of each nozzle to the cylinder. Remove the injection nozzles using the puller "T10055" with the adapter "T10055/1". Loosen the bolts "arrows" of the cylinder head cover crosswise. Loosen the bolts and remove the cylinder head cover.
Installation
Reinstall in reverse order. Replace the damaged cylinder head cover gasket. If the gasket is damaged, replace the cylinder head cover bolts. Hose fittings, air duct tubes and hoses must be cleaned of oil and grease before installation. Secure all hose connections with hose clamps of the appropriate series. To ensure reliable fastening of the air duct hoses to the fittings, treat the threaded connections of the already used clamps with a rust remover. Clean the mounting surfaces; there should be no oil or grease on them. Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts. Install the injectors, high-pressure lines, upper part of the intake manifold, air filter housing and EGP pressure sensor 1 "G450". Check the fuel system for leaks.
