Unscrew the threaded plug "arrow" of the "TDC" mark from the upper part of the oil pan, use a long wrench with an internal Allen key with a ball head for this.
If necessary, tighten the fixing bolt "3242" to 20 Nm in the hole; turn crankshaft "1" until the bolt is completely centered.
Risk of failure due to reverse running of already used chain of drive of attachments. For reassembly mark the direction of chain running with an arrow, use paint for this. Fix the balance shaft at the back of the engine with the pin for injection pump "3359" and loosen the bolts "arrow" of the balance shaft sprocket.
To protect against cuts, wrap the tip and cutting edge of the 3.3 mm drill with electrical tape. Press the chain tensioner damper bar "in the direction of the arrow" and lock the chain tensioner with a 3.3 mm drill "pos. 4". Loosen bolts "1" and "2" and remove the chain tensioner, balance shaft sprocket "3", and the chain.
Installation
Crankshaft "1" is fixed in the "TDC" position using locking screw "3242". Fix balance shaft "arrow" at the rear of the engine using pin for fuel injection pump "3359".
Install the chain tensioner with the chain and the balance shaft sprocket. The longitudinal holes in sprocket "3" must be centered relative to the threaded holes of the balance shaft. Tighten bolts "1" and "2" of the chain tensioner. Ignore "Pos. 4" and "arrow". Do not screw in the bolts "arrow" of the chain sprocket all the way. The sprocket must rotate on the balance shaft, but must not tilt to the sides. Remove the drill from the hole, due to which the chain tensioner is released. Use a screwdriver to press the bar of the chain tensioner damper "in the direction of the arrow" and simultaneously tighten bolts "1" of the sprocket. Remove the locking pin of the diesel fuel injection pump "3359".
Installation is in reverse order, taking into account the following: Install the lower cover of the drive chains.
