Adjusting the hydraulic power steering (Audi Q5-8R)

A second mechanic is required for adjustment. Adjustment is performed with the engine off. Remove sound insulation. Set the power steering mechanism to the middle position. When alternately moving the steering wheel left and right (approximately 30° from the middle position), a knock is heard in the case of too much play in the steering mechanism. In this case, the second mechanic carefully turns the adjusting screw "arrow" until the knock in the car interior disappears.



Perform a test drive. After maneuvering or turning a corner, the steering system should automatically, without jamming, set the steered wheels straight. If necessary, adjust the adjustment.
