Maintenance should be performed at the following intervals:

vehicles without extended service intervals. Servicing is performed in accordance with the messages of the counting and command system when the message on the display "SERVICE INSP" (technical inspection) starts to flash, but not less than once every 12 months or every 15,000 kilometers. In this case, service should be performed for the items indicated below with the "•" symbol, and every 30,000 km of run - for all the listed items indicated with "•" and "■".

Attention! Under difficult operating conditions, the oil should be changed more often. Such conditions are: driving mainly short distances or within the city, frequent driving on mountain or dusty roads, operating the vehicle with a trailer. When operating the vehicle on dusty roads, replace the engine air filter and dust filter (cabin filters) do it twice.

  • vehicles with extended service intervals. When the corresponding message appears, perform all work on the items marked with the "•" and "■" icons.
  • vehicles with and without extended service intervals. As part of the service, additional work marked with the "♦" icon is also performed.

Engine



"•" Inspect the engine, components and assemblies in the engine compartment and make sure they are tight.



"•" Engine. Change oil, change oil filter.

"•" Cooling and heating system. Check the fluid level, antifreeze concentration. Perform a visual inspection for leaks, damage and contamination of the radiator.

"•" Exhaust system. Inspect for damage.

"■" Vehicles with diesel engine. Inspect the timing belt. Replace the belt if damaged or defective.

"■" Diesel-powered vehicles. Inspect the fuel injection pump drive toothed belt. Tighten the belt if necessary or replace it if defects are found.

"■" Vehicles with diesel engine. Replace the fuel filter.

Gearbox, final drive



"•" Gearbox, final drive, CV joint seals. Check the condition and make sure there are no leaks.

"■" Cars with manual transmission. Check the oil level in the transmission and add oil if necessary.

Front suspension and steering



"•" Tie rod ends. Check the fastening and clearance, as well as the condition of the dust caps of the ball joints of the ends.

"•" Ball joints. Check the condition of the dust caps.

"•" Steering. Check the condition of the bellows and make sure there are no leaks.

Body and interior



"•" Door opening limiters. Lubricate.

"■" Anti-corrosion protection of the underbody and paintwork. Check the condition.

"■" Seat belts. Inspect and check condition.

"■" Ventilation/heating. Replace dust filter (cabin filter).

"■" Sunroof. Clean the guides and lubricate with special grease.

Brakes, tires, wheels



"•" Brake system. Inspect the pipes, hoses, brake cylinders and make sure there are no leaks or damage.

"•" Check the brake fluid level, top up if necessary.



"•" Brakes. Check the remaining thickness of the brake pads.

"•" Tires. Check the tread depth and tire pressure. Check the tires for wear and damage (including spare tire).

"■" Tighten the wheel bolts to 120 Nm.

Electrical system



"•" All consumers of the on-board electrical network. Check functionality.

"•" Lighting devices. Check the functionality and, if necessary, adjust the headlights.

"•" Windscreen wipers and washers. Check the condition of the rubber band of the wipers. If the wipers "scrape" on the glass, check the angle of the wipers and adjust it.

"•" Reading and command device. Delete the previous maintenance data and enter new ones.

"•" Battery. Check the strength of the fastening and the electrolyte level in the cells.

Every two years



"•" Replace the brake fluid. The brake fluid should be replaced every two years, regardless of the mileage.

"•" Conduct a CO content check. This analysis should be performed for the first time after 3 years of operation, and then every 2 years. This includes checking the idle speed, CO, ignition timing, and printing out the self-diagnostic system information about malfunctions.

Every four years



"♦" Vehicles with the automatic emergency call system "Telematik". Replace the system battery.

Every 60,000 km



"♦" Replace spark plugs.

"♦" Replace the air filter element and clean the filter housing.

"♦" Check the power steering fluid level and top up if necessary.

"♦" Vehicles with automatic transmission. Check the transmission fluid level and top up if necessary.



"♦" Cars with gearbox "Multitronic". Change transmission oil. Work is performed in the workshop.

"♦" All-wheel drive vehicles ("allroad quattro"). Perform the divider adjustment. Work is performed in the workshop.

Every 120,000 km



"♦" Cars with petrol engine. Replace the V-belt and, if necessary, the V-belt.

"♦" Cars with 4.2 liter gasoline engine. Replace the timing belt.

"♦" Cars with 2.7-liter gasoline engine. Replace the timing belt, timing belt tension roller, idler roller and tensioner.

"♦" Diesel vehicles. Replace both timing belts and fuel injection pump belts.

It is recommended to check and, if necessary, increase the tire pressure, check and, if necessary, replenish the volume of engine oil and cooling system fluids, windshield wiper and windshield washer at least every 4-6 weeks.

When purchasing spare parts, it is recommended to have the vehicle's technical passport with you, because often, to identify a vehicle, you need to know its body number, model range or year of manufacture. To be absolutely sure that the part you purchase is absolutely identical to the previous one, it is recommended, if possible, to take the old part with you to compare it with the one you are purchasing.


Engine and exhaust system



In accordance with the maintenance plan, the following types of work must be performed:

"■" Engine. Change oil, change oil filter.

"■" Inspect the engine, components and assemblies in the engine compartment and make sure they are tight.

"■" Check the engine oil level.



"■" Replace the spark plugs.

"■" Exhaust system. Inspect for damage.

"■" Cooling and heating system. Check the fluid level, antifreeze concentration. Perform a visual inspection for leaks and damage to the radiator..

"■" Vehicles with diesel engine: Remove condensation from the fuel filter or replace the fuel filter.

"■" Replace the air filter element.

"■" Vehicles with diesel engine. Check the condition of the timing belt and the fuel injection pump toothed belt. Replace the fuel injection pump toothed belt if necessary.

"■" Check the contents of the CO. Print out the codes of the registered malfunctions. The work is carried out in the workshop.
