Turn on ignition. Set air flow direction on control and display unit, Climatronic control unit "J255" climate, settings, to "DEF" (to the windshield). Move the passenger seat to the rearmost position. Turn off the ignition. Disconnect the ground cable from battery "A".

The ground cable is disconnected from the battery "A" to prevent a short circuit when the connector for starting from an external power source "C" is removed. Remove the cover of the connector for starting from an external power source "C". Remove the connector for starting from an external power source "C" from the tensioner and put it aside. Disconnect the connector from the temperature sensor at the outlet of the evaporator "G263". Remove the housing of the right heating element.
