Instructions. Cabin filter is available in different versions (with or without activated carbon filter insert). On cars with the "Komfort" climate control system, a cabin filter with activated carbon is currently installed, on cars with the "Basis" climate control system, a cabin filter without activated carbon is currently installed. Clean around the cabin filter in the air conditioning duct before installing a new filter. On cars with training equipment, if necessary, remove the additional pedals (depending on the version, there are places for service disconnection on the additional pedals.

Move the passenger seat to its rearmost position. Remove the threaded clamp "A" and the noise-insulating mat "B".

Cover the floor covering in the area under the cabin filter with paper.

Installation

Installation in reverse order: after removing the cabin filter "A", clean the air conditioner through channel "B" (for example, with a vacuum cleaner). Install cabin filter "A" (straight, bevel "C" to the side of the supply fan "D"). For cabin filter "A" intended for this car, the flow direction is not defined. The cabin filter is available in different versions: without or with an activated carbon filter insert, pay attention to the correct version (with and without activated carbon filter insert).

Possible causes of odor formation

The smell of burnt oil in most cases occurs in the engine compartment due to a leak in the engine or gearbox. Sulfur smell of exhaust gases. A consequence of a leak in the exhaust system. A consequence of exhaust gases entering the passenger compartment when reversing (when moving through the OG cloud). The coolant smells like fish. This is due to a leak in the engine cooling system or the air conditioner heat exchanger. If, depending on the selected temperature (weaker in the "Cooling" mode than in the "Heating" mode), a smell reminiscent of the smell of fish appears, check the air conditioner heat exchanger for leaks (the heat exchanger is sometimes blown with air).

The smell of a burnt clutch. Evaporation from the foot mat, additionally installed seat covers, etc. A musty and stale smell from the water drain box. A consequence of the accumulation and deposition of various contaminants, such as leaves, pine needles, etc. A consequence of stagnant water in the water drain box. Check the water drain box drains.

Smell from the air conditioner. Smells arising in the climate control unit are felt both in the supply air mode and in the air recirculation mode. If the smell appears only in the supply air mode or only in the air recirculation mode, then the cause in most cases is not the air conditioner. If the heat exchanger is not hermetically sealed, the smell of the leaking coolant often depends on the set temperature; when the temperature setting is "Cold", the heat exchanger is not blown with air and the smell is not as strong. The result of too much condensate in the air conditioner. Check both air conditioner condensate drains.

Consequence of unsuitability or severe contamination of the cabin filter. Check the cabin filter. Consequence of deposits on the evaporator plates. Clean the evaporator using the ultrasonic cleaning device "VAS 6189".
