Instructions. The following figure shows the location of components and parts for Audi A4, Audi Q5, etc. There are minor differences in the location of components/parts from this drawing. Deposits in the drainage box (foliage, various needles, etc.), which collect in the drains -A-, can impair the flow of water from the drainage box. In the line for automatic machines, washing, or during heavy precipitation, the water level in the drainage box rises and the water enters through the suction channel into the air conditioner and is blown by the supply air fan -V2-together with the supplied air into the evaporator. If both water outlets -A- (left and right in the drainage box) contaminated with leaves or needles, then in winter this can lead to the drains freezing and water no longer flowing. However, after a short drive, under the influence of waste heat from the engine and exhaust system, the ice in the drains melts again, and before the vehicle reaches the workshop, the water may already be draining normally again. The nozzles -A- of the drains are installed from above into the holes in the bottom of the drainage box. In addition to both drainage bushings -A-, there is another hole -C- in the body on the right, through which water flows behind the wheel arch liners if both drainage bushings -A- are closed. These holes will also be checked for contamination.
Cleaning
Clean drains on left and right -A-. Clean the drainage box from deposits (foliage, decomposition needles) and other contaminants. Check the operation of the bushings -A- (valves -B- must not be stuck together or clogged with dirt).
Removal
Remove the bushings -B- from the top of the holes in the drains -A- in the area of the bottom of the plenum chamber.
Installation
Insert the bushings -A- from above into the holes of the drains in the area of the bottom of the drainage chamber. After installation, check the operation of the bushings -A- (valves -B- must not be stuck together and must close).
