Replacing the cabin air filter (Audi A3 8L)

The filter that traps dust and pollen in the interior ventilation and heating system is located at the interior ventilation intake pipe on the right in the water collection compartment under the cover. If the air supply to the interior has decreased sharply, the filter should be replaced earlier than the maintenance plan provides.

Replacement



Replacement is carried out in the following sequence:

1. Open the hood.

1. Open the hood.


2. Remove the rubber seal from the body groove up to the center of the car.

2. Remove the rubber seal from the body groove up to the center of the car.


3. Fold up the movable element (A) of the water collection compartment cover.

4. Press down the 2 stoppers (B). Note: One of the stoppers in the illustration is closed.



5. Remove the filter (C).

6. Insert the new filter element into the frame (B) with the arrows (A) pointing down.

7. Fold the cover (A) down and secure the tabs (B), refer to point 3.

8. Place the rubber gasket on the body groove.

Warning: The water collection compartment cover must be installed correctly. Otherwise, water may enter the heating system and the passenger compartment.
