Every 30,000 km or once every two years.
Transmission oil replacement is not required throughout the entire service life.
When carrying out the work you will need:
- Inspection pit or garage lift with supports.
- To unscrew the oil filler plug: 17 mm Allen key.
- The type and volume of synthetic transmission oil is given in the Specifications.
Examination
1. Raise and place the vehicle horizontally on stands.
Warning: Lifting and installing the vehicle on stands is dangerous! Therefore, before carrying out the operation, read the subsection Jacking up a car.
2. Remove the lower engine compartment cover, refer to subsection Removal and installation the lower engine compartment cover.

Remove the filler/level gauge plug (indicated by the arrow) and check the oil level with your little finger. It should be near the bottom edge of the threaded hole - if it is lower, add oil. 1.6 l engines

3. Engines 1.8, 1.9 l: Remove the oil filler cap using a socket wrench.
4. Check the oil level. The oil level is normal if it reaches the lower edge of the threaded hole. If necessary, add oil through the oil filler hole. For topping up, use G052 911 A SAE 75W90 oil.
Warning: If the oil level is low, check the manual transmission for leaks and repair if necessary (work of the service station).
5. Screw the oil filler cap back into place and tighten it to a torque of 25 Nm.
