...There is no need to change the oil in the gearbox. The oil for manual gearboxes is designed for long-term use, and metal particles that get into the oil as a result of friction of the metal mechanisms of the gearbox are captured by special magnets.
The oil poured into the manual transmission must meet certain requirements. AUDI recommends using synthetic oil with viscosity SAE 75 W-90 according to specification G 50.
The rear wheel drive housing of AUDI 80 quattro cars is filled with 1.3 liters of transmission oil with SAE 90 viscosity, APL GL 5 specification. Oil change in the drive housing is not provided. However, checking the oil level in the housing is necessary. A reason for concern may be an oily housing of the housing. In this case, it is necessary to unscrew the plug of the filler hole and make sure that the oil level is level with the lower edge of the hole. If necessary, contact the workshop for refueling.
