Tie Rod Ends and Ball Joints - Check
1. Jack up the front of the car, place it on jack stands. The wheels of the car standing on the goats must hang freely.
2. Check, by lighting with a flashlight, the condition of the protective caps (see arrow in illustration) ball bearings of the left and right tips of the transverse steering rods, as well as their corrugated cuffs (covers).

3. Check the tightness of locknut 1 without changing its tightening torque, which is 40 Nm (see illustration 13.2).
4. Check up presence of backlash at cross steering drafts. To do this, grab the traction with your hand and feed it in one, and then in the opposite direction. Backlash should not be felt. Otherwise, replace the corresponding tip.
If the protective cap of the ball joint is damaged, then it is recommended to contact the workshop to replace the ball joint itself, because dirt that has entered through the damaged cap will break the ball joint over time.

5. Jack up the car, place it on jack stands.
6. Check, by lighting with a flashlight, the condition of the rubber of the cuffs of the CV joints. Pay special attention to the presence of porosity and cracks. When examining the cuffs, try not to deform them. If the cuff is torn, replace it immediately.
If the cuff is bent inward due to the formation of low pressure or has other defects, then it must also be replaced.
7. Pay special attention to traces of grease on the cuff and on the parts adjacent to it.
8. Check up a condition and an inhaling of collars of fastening of cuffs.
9. Lower the car on wheels.
