The front suspension of the Audi A2 consists of McPherson shock absorbers and lower triangular levers bolted to the housings of the wheel bearings and to the subframe consoles. The camber of the wheels is adjusted by shifting the subframe and both front consoles. The required toe-in angle is set by independently adjusting the left and right steering rods. To reduce roll when turning, an anti-roll bar is provided. Its mounting posts are bolted directly under the plates of the shock absorber springs. The springs in the struts have a large support area and are not installed coaxially to reduce lateral forces. To increase ride smoothness, the forces from the springs and shock absorbers are transmitted to the body independently of each other.
