Attention! As a rule, the oil level in the hydraulic booster should not decrease. If the level has dropped, then contact the workshop to repair the leak. If the oil level is above the nominal level, then the excess should be removed.
Examination
The oil level in the hydraulic booster must be checked on a cold or slightly warm engine. The maximum allowable oil temperature must not exceed +50°C.
Attention! The following procedure refers to checking the oil level when cold. This means that the engine was not started before the test, the test does not start immediately after the engine of the arrived vehicle is turned off, and during the test the engine is turned off. The wheels of the vehicle must be in the straight ahead position.
At the end of the chapter, instructions are given for checking the oil level in the hydraulic booster when the engine is hot.
1. Unscrew the cap on the filler neck of the power steering reservoir. Wipe the measuring probe on the cover with a clean, lint-free cloth.
2. Screw the cap onto the filler neck of the tank by hand, and then unscrew and remove again. The oil level on the dipstick should be near the MIN·mark (see illustration).
12.2. Screw the cap onto the filler neck of the tank, and then unscrew it again. The oil level on the dipstick should be near the MIN·mark
Be sure to fill in only fresh oil, because the slightest contamination can cause hydraulic booster failure.
3. Screw the cap onto the filler neck of the tank.
Checking the oil level in the hydraulic booster with the engine warmed up to operating temperature 4. Carry out a test drive and warm up the engine. The temperature of the oil in the hydraulic booster should be around +80°C.
5. Check the oil level. It should be 10mm above the MAX mark on the dipstick.
