Removal
1. Open the hood and remove the cover over the water collection compartment, refer to Section Removal and installation the water collection compartment cover.
2. Remove the wiper arms, refer to the relevant Section.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Warning: Follow the instructions in Section Replacing the battery.
4. Remove the brackets (1), pull the spoiler grille (5) forward and remove it. (2) – wiper arm, (3) – cover; (4) – nut.
5. Unscrew the screws (arrows) and remove the control unit box cover.
6. Using the AUDI 80-200 release lever or a large screwdriver, remove the rods (2) from the spherical head.
7. Mark the position of the crank on the engine mounting plate (1) with a felt-tip pen.
8. Loosen the nut and remove the crank (1) from the wiper motor.
9. Disconnect the wire and hose guides from the cleaner frame.
10. Loosen the mounting screws (arrows) and remove the wiper frame with the electric motor.
11. Disconnect the electric motor connector.
12. Remove the three mounting screws (arrows) and remove the electric motor from the frame.
Installation
1. Fasten the electric motor without the crank to the wiper frame. Tighten the screws to the specified torque 9 Nm.
2. Connect the electric motor connector.
3. Insert the frame with the electric motor into the engine compartment and secure with torque 8 Nm.
4. Stop the electric motor in the extreme position by briefly turning the wiper switch on and off.
5. Install the crank (1) at an angle of α = 2° on the electric motor shaft and secure it. Tighten the nut (2) to a torque of 18 Nm.
6. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
