Removal
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Warning: Follow the instructions in Section Replacing the battery.
2. Remove the right side trim in the trunk, refer to Sections Removal and installation trim (Sedan) and Removal and installation trims (Universal).
3. Disconnect the connector.
4. Unscrew the bolts using the special tool AUDI T10010 (arrows in the accompanying illustration), move the adjusting element forward and remove it.
Installation
1. Move the emergency lock (3) over the locking pin of the adjusting element.
2. Install the adjuster so that the locking pin enters the closed fuel tank cap (2). Move the adjuster back and tighten the mounting bolts.
3. Connect the connector and install the side trim in the trunk, refer to Sections Removal and installation trim (Sedan) and Removal and installation trims (Universal).
4. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
