13. For this operation, the gearbox must be removed as described in paragraph 3 of this chapter.
14. Remove the release bearing and lever as described in chapter 6.
15. Turn away bolts and remove the directing plug from a bell. Remove the gasket. Do not remove the washers mounted on the shaft.
16. Remember the depth of the seal in the gearbox housing. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal, being careful not to damage the surface of the input shaft (pic. 7.16).
17. Wipe the seal seat and input shaft.
18. Apply multi-purpose grease to the lips of the oil seal and slide it onto the shaft with the lips facing in. Press it evenly into place with a suitable head or cylindrical mandrel, rubbing off only the non-hard sealing lips. Install the gland to the same depth equal to 4.5 mm from the mounting surface of the guide sleeve.
19. Install guide bushing with new gasket and new bolts. Tighten the bolts to the prescribed torque.
20. Install the release bearing with lever as described in chapter 6.
21. Install the gearbox as described in paragraph 3 of this chapter.
