Lubricate the threaded head of the puller with engine oil, install and, pressing hard, screw it as deep as possible into the seal. Loosen the knurled bolt and turn the inner part of the puller against the crankshaft until the seal is removed. Clamp the puller in a vice in the area of the clamping surfaces and remove the sealing cuff with pliers. Clean the working and sealing surfaces of the cuff seal. Do not lubricate the working edge and the outer edge of the seal before pressing in.
