2. Drill two small opposite holes in the oil seal to be replaced. Wrap a self-tapping screw in them and, pulling them with pliers, remove the gland. Do not drill through the stuffing box or camshaft seal! Using an alternative method, remove the flange mounting bolts, remove the inner o-ring from the groove, and press out the gland.
3. Clean the stuffing box housing with a lint-free cloth. Remove any burrs that could cause premature damage. stuffing box.
4. Lubricate the stuffing box with clean engine oil and put it on the shaft with the working edges inward, pushing it to the housing. To prevent damage to the stuffing box by the sharp edges of the shaft, wrap them with adhesive tape (rice. 8.15).
5. Using a hammer and a suitable cylindrical mandrel, press the stuffing box evenly into the body.
Note: For a mandrel, select a head that rests only on the outer hard edges of the stuffing box.
6. If the flange was removed, replace the o-ring, install the flange and tighten its fastening bolts to the prescribed torque.
7. Install the auxiliary shaft sprocket as described paragraph 5.
