1. It is not necessary to remove the rack to replace the covers.
2. Measure the protruding thread on the inside of the tie rod end to the lock nut, this will be useful when installing the tie rod end to maintain the wheel alignment. Loosen the lock nut and remove the tie rod end as described in paragraph 21.
3. Loosen the lock nut.
4. Loosen the clamps and remove the boot from the steering rod.
5. Installation - reverse procedure. To facilitate installation, lubricate the inside of the covers. Replace the steering tip lock nut. When installing new cover fastening clamps, make sure that it is not twisted and that the edges are placed in the recesses on the mechanism housing and steering rod.
6. Check the wheel alignment by contacting an appropriate workshop or dealer as described in paragraph 24.
