1. It is not necessary to remove the rail to replace the covers.
2. Measure the protruding part of the thread on the inside of the tie rod to the lock nut, this will be useful when installing the steering tip to maintain the alignment of the wheels. Loosen the lock nut and remove the steering end as described in paragraph 21.
3. Loosen the locknut.
4. Release collars and remove a cover from steering draft.
5. Installation - reverse procedure. For ease of installation, grease the inside of the covers. Replace steering knuckle locknut. When installing new boot clamps, make sure that it is not twisted and that its edges are laid in the recesses on the mechanism housing and steering rod.
6. Check wheel alignment by a workshop or dealer as described in paragraph 24.
