Removal
Note: This procedure requires a spare ignition key with a thin head. A regular key has a head that contains the immobilizer transmitter or flashlight, it is too thick for this procedure.
1. Remove the steering wheel as described in paragraph 14.
2. Remove the steering column switches as described in chapter 12.
3. Carefully disconnect the wiring connector from the sensing ring (Fig. 16.3).

4. Insert the spare key into the lock, turn it to the "On" position. This will expose the hole for the lock.
5. Insert a thin (2 mm) screwdriver into this hole until it stops against the retainer (Fig. 16.5).

6. Holding the screwdriver in this position, remove the lock cylinder by pulling the key (Fig. 16.6).

Installation
7. Insert the key into the new lock cylinder and turn it to the "On" position.
8. Insert the cylinder into place until the retainer is pushed in.
9. Pull the key to ensure that the cylinder is securely locked.
10. Connect the wiring to the sensing ring.
11. Install the steering column as described in paragraph 15.
12. Install the steering column switches as described in chapter 12.
13. Install the steering wheel as described in paragraph 14.
