Removal
Set the vehicle's wheels to move straight ahead.
Take it off steering column switches.
On vehicles with an automatic transmission, disconnect the cable from the selector lever lock, turn the key in the ignition switch and remove the cable.
Move the selector lever to the position P.
Turn the key in the ignition switch to the position IN ("Ignition on") (Fig. 18–53).

Remove lever 1 of the ignition switch and disconnect cable 2 by pulling it out of the ignition switch housing.
To perform the following operations to remove the ignition lock cylinder, you will need a flat-handled ignition key (without backlight or remote control transmitter).
Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the on position "Ignition on", while the hole in the end of the ignition lock cylinder should be visible.

Insert a steel rod with a diameter of about 1.5 mm into the hole until it stops and remove the cylinder from the ignition switch housing (Fig. 18–54).
Installation
Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the on position "Ignition on". Insert a steel rod with a diameter of about 1.5 mm into the hole until it stops and install the cylinder into the ignition switch housing.
Press the lock cylinder with the key until it stops.
Remove the steel rod and press on the lock cylinder until it is secured by the latch.
