AUDI 80 is available in two body styles - "sedan" and "station wagon" (avant models). The smooth connection of the front and rear bumpers with the body skirt gives it a special elegance. Compared to previous models, the body is extended by about 8 cm, the base by about 7 cm, and the track width by about 4 cm. The AUDI 80 is equipped with wheels with 15 - inch disks.

The new shape of the fuel tank has allowed to increase the volume of the trunk significantly. The width of the trunk is one meter, and the trunk of both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (quattro) models is the same in its capacity.

The car seats are height-adjustable. The driver's seat runners are installed so that when the seat is moved longitudinally, a comfortable position for the driver is ensured. When the seat is moved forward, it is raised, and when it is moved backward, it is lowered. When the driver's seat is moved forward, its cushion tilts forward slightly, which is very convenient for short drivers.

At the same time, the passive safety of the car was strengthened by additionally reinforcing the doors, as well as installing a protection system "procon-ten". This system shifts the steering wheel forward in the event of a frontal collision, thus removing the obstacle that the driver inevitably collides with in such cases. This shift is achieved by the fact that the main force of the impact is taken by the side members, which "fold" like an accordion during a collision. At the same time, the force of the impact is distributed among the elements of the safety system, causing tension in the seat belts with a simultaneous shift of the steering wheel.

Passengers are protected in a side collision by using channels and a stable crossbar in the area of the instrument panel. The central pillars of an increased cross-section are connected to the channels and roof pillars. The crossbars in the area of the front and rear seats provide rigidity to the structure. The doors are installed with an overlap relative to the adjacent pillars, with an overlap, which prevents the doors from jamming even with significant deformation of the body.
