Checking and adjusting the amount of fuel injected into Keihin carburetors (Audi 80 B3)

The amount of fuel injected by the accelerator pump should be checked if the fuel consumption is too high, there are dips in gas supply, poor throttle response and acceleration.

Note: The amount of fuel injected into the Keihin-ll carburetor is not adjustable.


Remove the carburetor.

Close the throttle valve of chamber 1 by turning the idle speed adjusting screw.

Place a funnel and a VW 119/10 measuring cylinder under the carburetor.

Press the air damper lever in the opening direction

Slowly open the throttle valve 10 times (about 3 sec per move).

Divide the volume of collected fuel by 10 and compare with the nominal value. For nominal value, see Chapter. "Repair characteristics".

Adjust the injection quantity by bending stop "A".



Too little injection: bend the stop upwards.

Too much injection: bend the stop downwards.

Note: The injection direction is not adjustable.


Install the carburetor.

Adjust idle speed and CO amount.
