Cylinder head covers for 5-cylinder engines
Since 12.88, a modified rubber seal has been installed for the cylinder head cover. This seal is installed together with studs without flanges. Studs with flanges were used on engines up to 11.88. If oil leaks from these engines, the rubber seal 034 103 483J should be used primarily, and the cylinder head cover should also be replaced during initial installation.
Tighten the cylinder head cover in sequence 1 through 12 to the following tightening torques:
- 1st pass - 5 Nm
- 2nd pass - 10 Nm
- 3rd pass - 12 Nm
