Caution: New spring retainers have sharp edges on the cracker holes. This may cause damage to the valve stems (risks, etc). Replace damaged valves. Dull the edges of the plates before installation.

Install the lower spring plates. The spring plates have a wide chamfer "A" on the outside and a chamfer on the inside -arrow B-.
Blunt the valve stem on the surfaces adjacent to the valve crackers.
For reliability reasons, always replace the valve stem seals with new ones.
Lightly lubricate the valve stem with oil and install the valve.
Install new valve caps.
Caution: If the valve is installed without using plastic bushings, the caps may be damaged! The engine will consume an excessive amount of oil!
Insert the valve springs and plates from above. If the valve springs are replaced, they must be replaced in pairs.
Remove the valve springs with a collet and insert the crackers so that they are fixed in the grooves of the valve stem. Release the collet and insert the next valve.
Lubricate the hydraulic tappet plates with oil and put them back in place according to the marking.
Install the camshaft.
Install a new cylinder head gasket and install the cylinder head.
