Attention: Gasoline engine valves and diesel exhaust valves are not milled, only their grinding is allowed.
When milling diesel inlet valves, the dimension d = min 0.5 mm.
With properly machined valve seats and new valves, seat lapping is not necessary.
Valves can only be lapped with lapping paste. To do this, use a rubber suction cup, put on the valve plate. To prevent the formation of grooves and scratches on the lapped surfaces, it is necessary during the lapping process to periodically tear off the lapped parts from each other by raising and lowering the valve.
Caution: After lapping, carefully remove any remaining lapping paste.
The quality of lapping is checked by the contact patch and by filling the valve with fuel. To do this, loosely seat the valve and pour fuel into the combustion chamber. Fuel must not flow out of the valve guide. Otherwise, repeat lapping.
